Yomegashima Island

Yomegashima is a small, picturesque island off the coast of Matsue, in Lake Shinji, Shimane Prefecture.

It is known for its peaceful and almost heavenly atmosphere. The island is most notable for its striking Shinto Torii gate, which stands as a symbol of protection at the entrance to the island.

The view of the torii gate from the nearby shoreline is a stunning sight, and the black and white photo of the scene enhances the island's surreal atmosphere.

When I took this image, a mighty wind was blowing, so I had to extend the long exposure for many minutes longer than usual.

"Study I" is a shot where I used a standard zoom; "Study II" instead has a more zoomed image of the island.
